FAQ
What does a professional organizer do?
According to our National Association, a professional organizer enhances the lives of clients by designing systems and processes using organizing principles and by transferring organizing skills. A professional organizer also educates the public on organizing solutions and the resulting benefits. NAPO (pronounced NAY-poh) currently has nearly 4,300 members throughout the U.S. and in 8 other countries.
Why should I hire a NAPO organizer over a non NAPO organizer?
NAPO organizers belong to a large network that offers continuing education and a site where we go to help each other brainstorm problems. NAPO organizers also must yearly sign a code of ethics. If an organizer is a member of NAPO they have made a commitment to their profession and to their clients.
How much does it cost to hire a professional organizer?
How much can you lose by not hiring one? We almost always find things like missing bills, gift cards, deeds, passports not to mention we help you set up systems to keep up with important items that can save you money. Professional Organizers usually will cost more than a cleaning person but less than a divorce lawyer. Time Space Organization offers packages and the hourly cost is based upon how many hours you purchase.
Do I have to pay in advance?
You are expected to pay with a check or cash the amount of the package you have chosen, at the end of the first session.
Do I have to sign a contract?
Time Space Organization does not have a contract but does have an agreement. The agreement states what the organizer will do, what the client will do, and what we both will do.
Do I have to be there when the organizer is working?
Yes, because Time Space Organization is training you as well as helping you organize your presence is necessary. It is also very helpful if you keep yourself free to be 100% available during the process to maximize your return on your investment.
How long will the organization take?
How long often depends on how much you can do on your own and how large an area we are doing. Typically Time Space Organization works with you for three to four hours and then leaves you with home work. If you are able to maintain what we have done and complete your homework then jobs can be done in timely manner. The time required can best be determined after a session when we can see how large an area we are talking about, the density of the material, and the speed of your decision making. Paper organization tends to take longer than other organization.
Will I be able to maintain the organization?
As we are doing the organizing, training is going on to help you learn how to maintain the area. It is very important to completely finish the project so that you can see the end results and feel the satisfaction of the complete job. After the project Time Space Organization will occasionally check in with you to see how things are going and if you need more help. If you are ADHD or have a very complicated situation, a maintenance package is also available.

“I can't underestimate the value of your services. You were really nice to work with while being very well focused, eminently practical, and able to direct the process without being at all negative about the awful amount of things I had accumulated. We accomplished a tremendous amount of work streamlining my life.
Your very professional demeanor and discretion allow people to trust you with their private information. It is a pleasure to be able to find things now without having to spend hours looking."
